WHAT IS HIGH DEFINITION TV?

High definition television offers the highest quality
picture currently available for home entertainment.
High definition TV uses either 720 or 1080 lines of
picture information, compared to the U.K. PAL
standard of 576 lines.

Incredible Surround is an audio technology from Philips that dramatically magnifies the sound field to immerse you in the audio. Using high tech electronic phase shifting, Incredible Surround mixes sound from left and right in such a method that it increases the virtual distance between the two speakers. This wide distance greatly improves the stereo effects of the 47PFL7642 and creates a more natural sound output. Incredible Surround allows you to experience total surround with great depth and width of sound, without the use of further speakers.

2 HDMI inputs

HDMI makes an uncompressed digital RGB connection from the source to the screen. By eliminating conversion to an analogue signal, it delivers an unblemished image. The non-degraded signal on the 47PFL7642 reduces flicker and leads to a clearer picture. HDMI intelligently communicates the highest output resolution with the source device. The HDMI input is fully backwards-compatible with DVI sources but includes digital audio. HDMI uses HDCP copy protection.
